Help for SNAP recipients

Help is available for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) clients who are required to meet new work, volunteer service or education requirements.

Community Action Assn. of Pa. is offering assistance for volunteer organizations seeking to recruit SNAP recipients, and for those who are looking to meet their new obligations in order to continue receiving benefits.

Many Pennsylvanians receiving SNAP benefits must meet now meet work, volunteer or education requirements of 20 hours per week or 80 hours per month. Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, similar requirements will apply to certain adults (ages 19–64) receiving Medicaid health coverage.
